The Black Hole Presents: Top 10 Of 2011 (So Far...)

Oscar season has just begun, and already three films from the last weeks have found comfortable places within my top ten. I thought now would be as good a time as any to list off my current favorites of the year, 2011. Enjoy!

*Bear in mind, this list is subject to change. So, I don't wanna be hearing no bitching in January! K? Good!

  1. Interesting...of the films that make up my top ten at the moment, only three of them are on this list.

I could tell you which, but then what fun would January be?

  2. @Ryan: I think I can guess, judging from your reviews. But, maybe I'll wait. Build the suspense.

  3. I enjoyed THOR, SUPER 8, POTTER, APES and BEGINNERS, but so far this year I've only seen three films that feel worthy of being on an end of year top ten list - SENNA, RED STATE and A SEPARATION.

That said, we haven't gotten CONTAGION, DRIVE, MONEYBALL or most of the rest of the Oscar fare down here yet, so I remain cautiously optomistic.

  4. 1) You can deny it all you want, "Ryan", but you know you're the once and future Hatter, so suck it up.

    2) HP is the greatest movie of the decade. Make a note of it.

    3) I miss the DC movies. Marvel does nothing for me.

  5. @Tom: Fair enough. I fully expect this entire list to be gutted by the end of the year.

@Simon: Don't worry. There's a DC movie that will most certainly be making an appearance on another list.

  6. I loved X Class, Harry Potter, Drive, haven't really seen Planet of the apes, Contagion or Thor, neither and I interested! Nice top, but 2011 is far from over! The big guns are just coming out!

  7. @Aziza: Exactly. I fully expect this list to be gutted by the end of the year.

  8. JoGo is in a corner crying somewhere.

    Where's Hanna? :)

Seen all but 7-9 (though I was lucky enough to see the first four minutes of 7...darned malfunctioning projectors). I'll say this - I don't know if half of these will make my top 10, but there's not a bad flick in the bunch.

  9. Nevermind...I see your 50/50 review came just a few days after this, and from the sounds of it, would easily place here.

  10. @Dylan: Yeah. 50/50 will definitely be on this list somewhere.
